The Banquet Room

At The American Hotel Banquet Room we aspire to offer the Virginia wedding of your dreams in a straightforward and elegant style that you desire. Our Virginia banquet hall is located in the heart of the historic downtown wharf area of Staunton Virginia, thirty minutes west of Charlottesville, and thirty minutes South of Harrisonburg, in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

Offering an inviting atmosphere, our mid 19th century graceful design features dramatic chandelier lighting with exquisite hardwood floors, and rustic decor that was recently renovated. The Banquet Room hosts a year round uniquely beautiful site for rehearsal dinners, weddings, receptions, anniversaries, engagement parties, bridal showers, civic events, family reunions and business events.

We believe every wedding should be as unique as the happy couple with whom we celebrate. Bridal suite and groom's room are on the premises.  The Bride and Groom may enter from our cobblestone grand entrance. The American Hotel Banquet Room provides numerous indoor and outdoor photographic sites including sites related to the historic Staunton Train Station.

We have room for a seated reception accommodating 200 with additional room for a bar, dessert table, cake table, gift table, dance floor, along with space for your band or DJ. Ample parking exists around The American Hotel along with additional parking in our two story garage. Caterers enjoy the use of our large prep room, counter space, and a shelved cooler. You may use any caterer of your choice.

Additionally, The American Hotel Banquet room offers space for meetings and other events of various sizes from 10 to 200 people. 
We offer extremely affordable rates and additional discounts for midweek events. We aim to work with any caterer and alcoholic beverages are allowed on the premises.

For all weddings, parties, fundraisers, and large events on Friday, Saturday or Sunday, we do not limit your use of The Banquet Room to a four hour or five hour block of time, The Banquet Room is available at 9:00 am until midnight that evening. On holidays and some special events The Banquet Room is available for a later time.

Michelle Annese
Mrs. Annese has 20+ years promoting events. As a result, her diverse business interests and broad marketing experience, she has developed a network of contacts and experts in the fields of promotions and marketing to maximize the range of services available to clients. Mrs. Annese is a “hands on” advisor who personally oversees all events and arrangements. She believes the creation and maintenance of a client’s event requires all efforts be fully integrated and synchronized so that a clear message or “theme” is brought to every guest.

Mrs. Annese believes mindfulness is key to a successful event – she lives this out through her interests in martial arts, yoga, meditation, gardening, and cooking.

Mrs. Annese is fueled by her passion for understanding the nuances of cross-cultural events. She understands the complex needs of different events, and diverse clients. She is always eager to stay in tune with the latest trends through continued practice and professional development. Mrs. Annese is active in many civic and athletic organizations in her local community.
